Hi Coven,
On Monday June 9th I turned 40 years old. My best friends (minus a few who couldn’t make it) gathered with me in Mexico to celebrate. I brought my Nikon F3 and a few rolls of film. I also brought a bunch of slutty (laudative) dresses.
Here is my visual diary on becoming 40:
We spent most of our time at the beach, talking.
But we also went to the pool. And floated.
Kim brought A People’s History of the United States by Howard Zinn, inadvertently likening herself to Timothée Chalamet in Lady Bird (funny, but pejorative).
Some drank Piña Coladas and Miami Vices. Some drank margaritas. I drank the former.
Everyone wore leopard print at least once in my honor.
There are no leopards in Mexico, but there are iguanas. I loved them.
It stormed only twice. Brief, heavy downpours of fat raindrops and wind.
